Travelall tailgate problems

The torsion bar on my tailgate rusted through. Anyway to remove and install another torsion bar. 1972 ta.
 
Yes the torsion bar is easily replaced. I had to replace the one in my Travelall last year as it broke. Remove the cover on the tailgate and some brackets will be visible at the bottom of the gate. Undo those and the torsion bar will come right out.
 
hi, thread revivial, can anyone show me inside the tailgate what the torsion bar should look like and where it should go? I think i've got parts missing to prevent it being fitted, thanks
