Looking to do the bearings in a 73 1110 d44 front, d60-2 rear. I do not know the IH designation for either axle fa-?? Or ra?? No marking on bearings that came off either axle to know.

Do you know where to look for the identification numbers? You do not see something like this on the bearing's edge or on the race's edge? It is very uncommon for these bearings of the size used in hubs, spindles or differential gears to carry no identification.

If you have the bearing in your hand, take them to an automotive part store of a bearing supply vendor. They will likely be able to identify and supply replacements.

Ra-83 (ra-84 if trac-loc)
fa-46
I think, but the best answer would come from your LST.

You could also get the bill of materials number off the axle housing and look up all the parts for it from Dana.

What jtscout80 said. Search google images for Dana bom# so you know where to look on the axle for the number. You'll most likely need to clean off the axle tube with a wire wheel to see the bom#. Then go to the Dana website bom search page and it will give you all the info for that axle. You can also download Dana axle books with the same data.

You could always call IHPA and order the parts through them. With your best information, they can supply the correct parts for your axles.

I've posted you the info for the rear axle over on the bp for the ra 83 or 84.

1970/71 was a change year for the axles for your rig. I can get bearing numbers for both. As mentioned for the rear axle; adjusters on the bearing retainer mean set 7, no adjusters mean set 10.

The front axle depends on whether or not you have 4wd. Different wheel bearings depending on whether it's a driving axle or a steering axle. It's best to list all known options you have, computers ain't telepathic, helping us see what you see gives you clear accurate information.

Got your info off of bp, it was the set 10 bearing, the only bearing that I found a marking on was the pinion bearing, which I'm not replacing, just the seal. Brought the shafts to have the bearings pressed on, those should be done by Friday.
On to the front. 4wd with the flat top knuckles but it had really small shafts and tiny u joints. A while back I found some larger diameter shafts with a bigger (297 I think) joint. I'll measure those tomorrow so I can order my front set.

No way on the bom on these axles, that is long since rusted off and gone
