transmission & T case for Scout 80

Need input on what transmission and t case combo would fit into my 65 Scout 80 without much mods. I'm going with a Chevy 350. I want to go with a Chevy transmission & t case to avoid engine/trans adapters. I currently have a t90 3-speed with a Dana 18 t case.

My opinion, don't waste any time with a t-90 behind a sbc. It won't last long.

I would use either a muncie sm420 or sm465 transmission and either a Dana 20 or Dana 300 transfer case behind that 350.
