Transmission for 304

Does anyone know what transmission can bolt up to a international 304. I have a 1968 international travelall.

There are many different transmissions that can be used behind an IH SV engine. What are you trying to accomplish?

It’s an automatic. My t-28 is no good anymore so I’m trying to find a modern transmission that can just bolt up to the 304. No one in San Antonio tx can help cuz they don’t know anything about internationals

A Chrysler built TorqueFlite 727. However, it must be a unit that was built for IHC as they have a case that mates to the IH SV-8 engines (304-345-392).
A 727 from a Mopar product or an AMC car/truck will not mate up.
You need one from a IH pickup or Travelall or Travelette from '71 thru '75, 4X4 or 4X2 would be the same.
Or one from a Scout II 4X2 only from '73 thru '80. (Must be from a 4x2 Scout II)

You will need the Shift linkage and the linkage for the Throttle Valve, aka "kick-down" linkage.
Also cooling lines for the trans fluid cooler, or fab your own lines.
An aftermarket trans cooler mounted in front of the radiator is recommended for the 727.

Another option is to buy the transmission adaptor from IHPA and install a GM 700R4 automatic w/overdrive.

That T-28 is a Borg Warner transmission that was common in lots of vehicles in that era. That info may help the rebuilder.

T-28 is the IH name for it, Borg Warner called it the Model 8.
Later BW models were Model 11 (T-29 & T-39) and Model 12 (T-409) and will interchange with the Model 8.
EDIT: Each unit utilizes a vacuum modulator.

Have the same issue with a 68 1200 pickup. The vacuum modulator is shot and you can't find replacements. It's the Borg 8. Can you tell me if the Borg 11 does or does not have it? It would be great to swap in the 11 if it didn't use that vacuum modulator.
