I'm trying to figure out if my 66 Scout 800 body is too far gone. Its a good runner (everything works), but the door hinges are loose, and the wndow frame is partially rotted. Since I can weld I would like to try and find a window frame and the inner panels but I imagine I would have to cut up a donor car or fabricate. This is the worst spot on the car...

You know that is a very subjective question.
For me I'd not want to take it on. I would search for a beter body or entire Scout. Now if you are real short on money, long on time and in for a good long metal work project have at it. I suspect this is just the begining of what you'll find however.
In the rust belt that is a good one to save as they are usually worse then that but in kalifornia they are fairly easy yo find.
