Trying to find best possible tire to fit, and would like some expert advice.
I do not plan on wheeling, just cruising and daily work.

1970 Scout 800 with Scout II axles + Scout II power steering box(mounted to outside 800 frame rails)

Wheels :
American Racing AR172 Baja (17x9"/5x139.7mm, -12mm offset)

Tire Ideas:
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2
285/70r17
or
255/75r17

The 255 size is going to have a better chance of working for you on a stock height Scout. The other size could be an issue without some lift. Stock tire height is something like 28 or 29 inches tall. You're considering roughly 31 or 33 inch tall tires by comparison.
