Hey I need some wisdom,I was driving my 69'800 doing about 3or4mph in a field and it just died like I turned the key off,no sputter, cough,or backfire.I thought it was fuel but the pump is working perfect and I can see it spraying in the carb.I checked the spark in all cylinders and it looks good, nice and blue.I have had pertronix in it for a year with no problems,it has a new cap and rotor.I put a new key ignition in it,I can here and see the cylinoid open and close.I am running all original as far as I know a v8 304,holly carb, and vaccum advance dist.I had a friend crank the motor and I put a timming light on it and it was at 0 like it was supposed to be.so I have fuel and spark, but no idea what to try next.can anyone shed some light on this problem?

Well the only other possibility is too much fuel. Spark and fuel = at least a pop or sputter. Is the choke opening?

Is the liquide you see really fuel and not water?

It was the wire coming out of the starter that carries the curent to the coil when the key is in the run position.easy fix just took awhile to find it.thanks for the imput
