The guy that had my '66 1200a before me replaced the tie rod ends & on the left side there are 14 threads showing & on the right there are 7 threads showing. I know that it's suppose to be the same number of threads showing on both sides but I'm not sure how many it should be. My truck is 2wd, no power steering & has a fa10 axle. Any input will be greatly appreciated.

What you need is the correct toe-in setting and enough thread engagement to ensure the ends can't pull out. 14 exposed does sound like a lot, but I don't know how many threads total your tres have. Not a bad idea to even them up and then take it in for an alignment. 14+7=21/2=10.5 per side. If there are any other worn parts go ahead and replace them also so you waste money on an alignment.

One side tre usually has course threads while the other side has fine threads, so exposed thread count comparisons between the two become somewhat of an apples to oranges prospect. Toe adjustments are measured in 16ths of an inch, so the fine threads allow for fine tuning.

Thanks, the previous owner had put a fine thread tre on the course side & I guessed he stopped when he couldn't turn it any further.
