This Old Carb

good to be back amoung the electrons for the moment.
I have enclosed a few pictures of this what I believe to be a a 23xxx tpe pf a carb. It came off a 345.
Now the old guy I was talking to says that the it will idle just fine. But put it into gear and it sputters and dies.
Now I tried to get a good picture of it but the old guy seems to think that the linkage (area that is taped up) is the problem and was wondering if there was a simple fix. The carb has been rebuild 1 that I was told of. We do not have a professional carb rebuilder fixer upper around here. I was wondering if mm would be advising to send it somewhere to get it rebuilt. I know my terminology or lack there of and sorry for all that.

Guess what Todd...I just found all those pics and emails ya sent me in the very aggressive spamblocker folder!!! Two months worth!!!! This is very embarrassing!

I wondered what had happened to ya, now I know it's my problem!!! And I need to check the spamcan onna more regular basis!

I'll have to go through all the stuff and try and absorb it and I will git back to you and your mentor!

The carb in the pics attached are the 22xx series (2210/2210c/2245), not a 2300. Find the list number stamped into the front of the fuel bowl segment of the main body and post it for positive id, I have the "book" with me!

As for the carb shown in this thread, that one should be very rebuildable. I've also picked up a few more decent 2210c cores here at ihon that will go in the stash. We'll soon have a supply of 2210/2210c/2245 carbs on the shelf at an attractive price that are ready to run and proper mixers for the kalifornikate smog nazis.
 
And here I thought I upset the balance somehow....
No worries digest at will and get back to me when you can. The old guy ain't in a hurry but I'd like to get the carb fixed up and back on that 345 800 he has just to get it out of the barn and give him something to do.
The issue was / is the linkage and position(s) that wire is all bent up blah blah blah or thats what he seems to think says there should be someway to "hardline" it or some other way to make those adjustments
