Will the thermostat that you sell (iheng-tstat) work on the Scout 80 4 cylinder engines. The description says it is for v-8, but it seems like it should work for the 1/2 v-8's as well.
 
Depending on what thermostat housing you have yes it will work on some 4cyl engines. The online store will be edited to reflect that.
 
If your engine has the one piece, cast aluminum outlet housing, the balanced flow series thermostats we have in the online store will not work. That housing takes a stand-alone thermostat that is sealed with an "o" ring.

If you have the two piece housing system, our 370-series thermostats will work. You will also need two gaskets. I run 195*f thermostats in all my ihc-produced engines including the 152 and 196 engines.
