The "Fuel Tank" Thread

Hi guys, I am trying to re-install the gas tank to my 1964 C1200 Travelette. I purchased new tank straps from IHParts, and I have mounted the inside end of the straps and put the tank in place, but it looks like the straps are not long enough to come all the way under the tank and then up to mount into the mounting sleeves on the rocker. Is there a specific sequence for re-mounting these straps?
 
Thanks Jeff, I talked to Michael at your shop and sent photos. My truck was a logging company or railroad fleet truck
(I think) and maybe there was a larger gas tank option because my original straps are 1 1/2" longer (Front) and 2" longer (rear) than Lightline's template. And my originals are identical to each other. Michael is taking care of it.
