The Dusy

Who's ready for the dusy ershim? In September I'm heading down to tackle the 30 mile trail with a bunch of non-Scout folks. The invitation is open to all and I'd love to have some of my Scout brothers represent.

Sean did you ever make this trip?

I would like to bring this back to the top as this is one of those trails I would like to run.

I open to most any date right now as I can schedule time off.
How about late July the weekend of the 24th and 25th. Its a long trail and would need to take an extra day or two to have time to enjoy it.

Plug, how many days should we plan? I figured if we went at easy pace there would be less chance of major failure.
My Scout is street legal, but could get the wife to drive the burb and trailer just in case somebody does have a major break down. Since this trail is over a 100 miles from home ( current aaa limit for me) having a truck and trailer nearby would be nice thing to know.

Everyone I've talked to have said that this is at least a 4-5 day trip. (unless your in a buggy that races through).

However, non-street legal rigs will need someone to pick them up at the other end.

This is do-able. We need to get a date down. Taking four days off is no problem, but getting the Scout ready for a 4 hour drive to do a three day trail is the tough part.

I have the 100 mile tow from aaa as well and had kates honda towed from fresno to sf with little trouble. The trick is to wait a while between tows. We stopped in modesto for lunch then had our second tow truck come pick us up. It works.
