Terra Top Flatdeck?

I have a Scout II with a regular roof..... The rockers are pretty well shot, back end cap shot, inside box is pretty rusty along the sides.... Not so much on the bottom... But there are a couple spots... Frame is good, pretty well the whole front end is strong with minimal rust.... I have a friend with a terra top I was thinking about purchasing from him for a good price and was thinking instead of trying to fix all the rust... Cut the back off and throw the terra top on and do a flat deck... Anyone had any experience or knowledge of this even your opinion on this option is nice.... Any input is appreciated!! Good or bad!

I've seen it done before. Its a cool look when done properly. The other thing to keep in mind is the door windows. Your current door windows have squared-off corners. The terra top requires rounded edges on one corner. So you also need the doors from terra/traveler, or you need to swap the door windows out, which is actually the easier way to go.

I have everything, rounded windows which my friend ripped out of another Scout.(not installed obviously) bulkhead and terra top itself. So im prettyy sure thats all I really need to make the top work, I was more just seeing if people had heard of it or seen them and their thoughts and if there is anything else I should be aware of.

I have searched google and it seems very uncommom to find a Scout with a flatdeck, I have yet to seen one, if anyone has pictures or found them online it would be great to see some builds of one. It just seems like the easier route rather than trying to fix the rust and keep it straight, thinkin just eliminate it all together and either put a revco(not sure if thats how its spelt) box or a flatdeck, im thinking flat deck tho. But a revco or rebco box would also be fairly cool if fit right.

Not flat, but could be.

Hi, I have a terra with flat bed I use daily for work, the picture is on my member page ,for the past 9 years it has served me well ,it has had some issues with cut body and frame but if engineered and strengthened it should be ok. Get it done right from go.

I cannot find pictures on your member page? Maybe wanna post a link for me?? Well I got started... I have the terra top on now as well as the windows and bulkhead.... Gotta get it bolted down properly though and cut some seals for around the top where it meets the body. It looks great so far, havent decided if I gonna go flatdeck yet though. Lovin the terra style tho. Its awesome, ill post pics later! Needs to be painted and the glass in back replaced since its cracked as shit, but ill probably just use some lexan!
