I bought it from the original owner back in 2000. Sold it in 2007. I found the exact same Scout again on craigslist in 2012 and bought it back. She had a bit more rust but it turned out nice. I bought a soft top from b-d company that is going on in a few weeks. Thanks for looking. Cheers!

That is a beautiful Scout. Great job getting it looking great again.

I wish I could find my first truck again but it's been so many years now, I'm sure it's gone.
 
Yes I was extremely lucky to find it again. I definitely missed it after it was gone. About 4 years after I sold it, I began to randomly search scouts on cl a few times a week.

I cut out the rust, treated, and prepped. I worked along side a pro for the body finish. The one fender repair is a little wavy if you really look at it but the fender flare covers my attempt nicely.

The paint was done by maaco believe it or not. Single stage urethane. I researched all the shops in the bay area and found one with high marks and honest reviews.
 
Also, after reading and searching these forums...I pulled the trigger on pt cruiser seats from ebay for $350 shipped. Originally I had the front bench. I found some seat bases locally on cl and the pt cruiser seats did in fact bolt right in.
 
The Scout turned out sweet. I am also in the bay area, which maaco did you take it to? And who did your door panels? Thanks justin

Maaco in fremont off of grimmer. Check out the reviews on yelp.

I did the door panels. I cleaned and treated the old leathers and used sem leather and vinyl prep, paint, tac coat to color match the seats.

Question: are the pt cruiser seats power operated? If so, did you connect them? And, what type of seat belts do they have?
