Well I was finishing up my transmission rebuild and was installing the input bearing retainer. As I was tightening the bolts I heard a snap and noticed it cracked near the base by the bolt hole. Further examination revealed the new retainer ring on the input bearing was thicker than the old one, so it didn't fit perfectly inside the groove of the bearing retainer!!! Soooo, my question now is, can this be welded up and ground down? Having a hard time finding the same one with the long shaft. Anyone have one for sale?
