Swapping from IHC 6 cyl to AMC 6 cyl in a '68 Travelall 4x4

What rigs would the motor mounts work from? I'm going 4.0l with efi (same mounts as the 232 and 258) to go with the ps and pb I'm putting in to make it drivable (I broke my right shoulder and left hip, so driving stick is in the past for me)
I have an '89 Jeep comanche for the motor and trans (2wd aw4 overdrive) with newer efi (I only need to change the flexplate and intake for it to work with the high output harness I have)
I scored a Ford 4x4 ps box for crossover steering ('73 Jeep j4000 front axle appears to bolt right in and parts are readily available) I know it's a scrambled mix, but I hope to enjoy this rig for some time and I have most of the parts already.
Too bad no-one wants a decent running bg241 with new starter and fuel pump for cheap (it'll probably get better than 10 mpg now, but I can't drive 4 speed anymore)

The heeps used the same exact 262/258 motor way back in the day. And the 4.0 motor was the direct replacement. And is a direct bolt in with the same transmission bell housing pattern as the IH inline 6. In my ole 74 Scout with the 258, spun a rod bearing twice in it, and I did the same motor swap you're considering. I was able to keep the IH 727 trans. The j@@ps aw4 trans is a mixed bag of trix and reviews. The 4.0 block kept the original engine mounting bosses as the IH motor mounts location. An the 4.0 motor does not have a provision for mechanical fuel pump.

Use the Scout power steering gear box. I have seen in person, read articles, and know j@@p owners who preffer to use the Scout II steering boxes and steering. I know one guy who used both axles, steering box, and linkage in his heep. Works good.

Think something was missed.. He is swapping in the heep 4.0 in place of the bg241 6 in a 68 t-all..... Doubt the ihc bg is the same as the amc/heep mill..

The op could have been more clear about the swap

Definitely an International made bg motor coming out which is quite different from the amc 6 cyl motors used '68 on.

I thought the title was quite clear?
Swapping from ihc 6 cyl to amc 6 cyl in a '68 Travelall 4x4

the bg241 would make a fine tractor/ stationary/ classic IH truck engine but not a very good daily driver long distance.

Your right the title when incorporated with the body. I'm guilty of reading only the body and hastily typing a reply so not your fault completely.
Going to say that swapping in a 6 for a 6 is not very common. A v8 would be more likely to have been done before. You might be breaking new ground and having to fab up the mounts.

I stand corrected. My last post was mainly in reference to my 74 Scout II that came oem with the 258 straight six and the 727 torqueflight. And my 74 ended up with a used 90' heep 4.0 motor before I tried to toss it up into a tree. Last year.

Since they came stock in '69 and newer with amc motors, I'm hoping to find mounts from a conversion to v8. I'd even swap parts from the '66 304 v8 I have for them.

6 cyl swap is out ('93 xj 4.0l motor was freeze cracked and I was lied to). It's amc v8 time (once I find the correct frame mounts. Motor brackets seem to be the same as full sized Jeep ones.). I just have to decide whether it's going to be the amc 290/2wd th400, amc 304/2wd aw4 (Jeep o/d auto) or v400 (and choice of th400, 727 or aw4 2wd trans from my spare parts collection)
