SV fuel pump

This will be for my 74 pickup, does anyone off hand know the correct part number? I have gotten them from parts store and had them be wrong, with a longer arm instead of a short. I looked through my archives, but can't find the corrected part number.

When I replaced the one on my 64 1200c I used the longer arm. I got it at the napa in bend. The counter man was retired from IH. He said the longer arm replaced the shorter one because it fit more applications. It worked perfect on mine because the short one had to be bent (po) to fit, but still rubbed the x member, which is where it leaked. I believe the short one was from a sii.

the one in my t/a was replaced last year:

carter m6959

from my repair order

Robert's p/n quote should be correct. Your engine is the bastard though...the 6959 application is for either a dog bone mount motor inna pickall or a side mount motor for sii. Your motor was "converted" regarding the mount arrangement because of the setback deal for the '74/'75 bastard pickalls.

A horse shoe front mount app inna pickall uses a carter m2774 (should show as master m178).

The difference is in the "length" of the main body at the mounting flange, there is about 2.0" difference between the two p/n's. The configuration of the inlet/outlet fittings will also be different.

I had a long arm fuel pump and it didn't provide enough pressure to the carb. I guess it could have been a bad pump from the factory, but once pulled and moving the arm through the entire range of motion there seemed to be enough pressure. With the short arm pump and I am getting enough pressure, but I filled it full of crap from a bad fuel tank, so hence the new one.
