Stuck in 4 low

Not sure which transfer case this is but hopefully someone on here can help with that.. Its a 78 Scout II had a 304 with manual originally. Now has a 345 in it. Transfercase was shifting ok just a few days ago now just seems stuck.. Any help would be appreciated..

Some times they get a bound up when wheelin, had a k5 that used to lock up in 4-low. I used to put it in reverse and at a slow roll pop the throttle while shifting the t-case and it would come out that way. You could also try unlocking the front hubs to relieve the bind also.

Yep! Very common.

Do all the tricks described. Sometimes ya even havta kill the motor after unlocking the hubs to make sum slack and allow the driveline to "relax" due to parasitic drag inside the transfer case.

If 4l or 4h hasn't been engaged in a good while, rustmud forms on the shift rails and causes binding also. The front axle and tc need to be exercised on at least a weekly basis.
