Springs and Shocks

Hello, I have a 64 Scout 80, 196 4 cyl that I had a set of narrowed d44 with SOA made for it and I chose to use the stock spring width instead of using a Scout 2. I like the axles very much and im looking for a set of stock springs to go along with them. The ones I have are a mess. I have not been able to find anyone that has nos or makes them. If any one has any ideas please let me know. Im running 33" tires. I would like to have nos or new, I can find 45 year old springs here in mn but with thhe money ive put in I would like something nice.

I saw on the IH only store you have long shock towers and shocks, the question that I have and I was told by the maker of the axles that I need to move the upper shock support back a little on the frame to avoid hitting the shock with the knuckle when hard turns are made. Assuming this is true and I know the definition of assuming, will the long travel shock towers help or hinder in this process?

Found this spring / suspension shop in minneapolis area using google

standard truck and auto, roseville, mn

They should be able to make you a set of stock springs...

I think Jeff is thinkling about getting a source for stock springs in CA...

Jeff / other people can speak to what might be the "best" spring for your Scout configuration

There are custom spring places online that will make you anything you want. But you will pay for it...

When I lived in mn I used husky spring in st. Cloud - but they have other places in mn. If you can come up with measurements and specs they should be able to match or build something very close to what you need.

Total side note: my wife/inlaws are from st. James! The old family farm is now the cenex station off the highway...

thanks, I spoke with them but no luck

No, that's not what I said. We do offer 2.5" lift springs from one of our suppliers that I priced out for you. I am currently still looking into having stock springs made for you but if you are looking elsewhere I will stop my research as I have a zillion other things I could be doing.

Early Jeep cj (pre 1968 iirc) are the same length/width of Scout 80 springs.

However since a Scout weighs more they sit a lower than expected.
