Does anyone know if I can use Scout II Dana 27 spindles on a Scout II Dana 44 axle?

Scout II's never had d27 axles, they had d30 axles before switching to the 44's . The 27's were in Scout 80 models. The sii d44 knuckles have 8 studs and thus require an 8 hole spindle. I'm pretty sure the d30 spindles are 6 hole. That May not be the only difference either.
