source for nuts

My '67 Scout (v-8) has an adjustable clutch linkage. There is a turnbuckle arrangement such that you can spin the rod with a wrench to either shorten the linkage or lengthen it. This works because the threaded rod has a right-hand thread nut on one and and left-hand thread nut on the other. I didn't think about this when I was taking it all apart. So, I threw the old rusted nuts away, planning to replace them with new stainless steel on rebuild. However, when I tried to reassemble this assembly, I discovered this difference between the two nuts. The local sources that I usually visit (lowe's, napa, etc.) don't stock left-hand thread nuts. Any ideas where I might find a 3/8-24 left-hand thread nut? Thanks in advance, pineneedle

Out here in kalifunkia there are several companies that do nothing but sell nuts and bolts. One of them being about 5 miles from me. Any specialized nuts & bolts that I can't find elsewhere they May have. So you might do a search in the phone book in your area for suppliers

doing a google search came up with atleast a full page of online suppliers

or fastenal They've had every fastener I've needed for my Scout so far.

I have used them before. But they didn't have the proper length bolts for the new body mount bushings. There is at least three different lengths for the body mount bolts. The two in rear of bed are around 7" in length.

I ended up walken across the street to the compitition who specializes in nothing but nuts and bolts.

Thanks for the information. I located a fastenall not two miles from my house. Great place. They had the nuts and a bunch of other things I have had trouble finding. For example, they stock a good supply of weldable steel, and can order just about anything. Earlier I posted a question about strengthening the rear frame crossmember on my '67 Scout. The responsed I got suggested that a 6" channel would be the answer. I got one cut to five feet, no problem. Pineneedle
