Slop In 14bolt

Was swapping tcases in the Scout and noticed the rear drive-line had about a 1/4 turn of slop in it. Rearend is a 14bolt with 5.13s and a detroit. Tcase was in neutral while I was turning it. I had new gears put in less than 1000 miles ago. Did some research and found that some slop is common in 14bolts with detroits. Anybody here think it's normal

Slop?? You mean it would turn back and forth a 1/4 turn, that's normal. The only part that is tight is the ring and pinon, which is in the thousandths. While your there make sure the nut is tight, I just like to check every nut while I have access. It's on there with like 350lbs, so you should not be able to turn it.
