slightly confused

Alright great just what I wanted to hear just normal wear/tear & not some gawd darn emergency... Broke out the manual & will have to get the tranny assembly #s. Service manual t-407 band adjustments pg 31 unless otherwise directed.
Will have to tripple/quad on the stands as I do not have 6ton stands but that will make it ezier for my oversized body get in & out from under the frame. Plane to start Sunday unless sched says otherwise. Will post again when I get frusrated & confused no doubt.
Thanks for all your advice / guidance & assistance sir(s)
will keep you updated.
Yep ordered them parts yesterday talked to Jeff briefly & again this morning wrt a master cylinder but that's for another post.
Thanks be posting soon

This job on hold until I locate a proper torque wrench that isn't gonna cost me more than I can afford at the moment.

Absolutely perfect for the band adjustment application!

- harbor freight tools - quality tools at the lowest prices

Combine that torque wrench with the two craftsman sockets from sears...a 5/16", quarter-inch drive eight point, p/n 45791, and 1/4" in the same type, p/n 45790. Then which ever socket you don't need, return for a credit before removing from the packaging.

Ooooh yea back on track!
Another local scouter has what I need & I will be picking up later today.... I will look at hf tools & put that on my list of must haves. A trip to santa maria I might as well pay shipping but maybe talk the wife into being in the area...heck I should just make a run to black road auto jy....hmmm
thanks guys!

Santa maria???? Ya a dam kalifornikater too? Got strawberries? You ain't the freakazoid what useta live out there at neverland are ya????

Nope not I.
I just ended up here after retiring from military service. Not entirely by choice either. Sometimes the situation dictates the outcome of an ever flexible / fluid plan. One has to keep the brass ring in the sights & keep aiming for hits.
I will escape someday to the high country across the border hopefully with the family in tow...but for now, here I am, in good company

Just aleetle followup here regarding Todd's ongoing saga of getting his sii out from under the po virus...

He's got a fuckin' mess! And it ain't just the tranny! But we're working on getting it under control now.

Big problem on the tranny is...the po deleted the kickdown control link between the bracket and the carb throttle arm. It's mia.

Until we see all the details of each individual vehicle and setup, there is no way to effectively advise diagnostic and fix solutions for this stuff! And overwhelmingly, slushbox tranny issues are a direct result of po virus and no periodic maintenance.

Now Todd's gotta plan of action and can work through all the corrections inna logical progression!

Afternoon all
just a non-issue update;
been emailing back & forth w/ mr. Mayben. Yep I gotta a huge f'n mess but mm has been mentoring me along proper like. The current enemy is time. Seems other life issues creep up all at once & hit ya. I am sure you all have experianced this at some point. As many great mentors have done, mm has refocused & reminded me it is a project not a life.
Nope still haven't gotten to adjust the bands even after the torque wrench arrived. I can plan on doing it this week but it May have to wait some, again.
I believe I did a good thing by'showing' mm what I had & what I was working on/with. It was no surprise when I received his email reply. So with his help - developed a preliminary plan of action which will be put into action as soon as I can. I just want to say a hearty thanks to mm on so many levels & thanks to all of you here on this forum who sheds light into the murky waters so I can accomplish the many tasks I have ahead of me. I honestly do enjoy working on this Scout & while we have moments we disagree with each other (the Scout & I) its a project. Once I get the issues resolved & she's up & running strong I'll crack a few cold ones for ya all.
I plan to document this adjustment as best I can to add to the ever growing library here.
Thanks again.
