Slick Rock in Augist

Looks like the weekend of augist 18 . Met some new folks ay hollister Sunday. Looks like thetes about 4 rigs that want to go so far. No scouts uet tho so any one intetsted ? Post up
 
Would love to. But my Scout won't be ready by then. Untill I can afford to completely redo the exhaust system, I can't run a front drive shaft. Current passenger side exhaust pipe was bent and routed right in the path of the shaft :( in the mean time I'm doin other maintenance and repairs and upgrades
 
I would be in if it was closer to the end of August. Im pretty sure I can round up a few other rigs to tag along also. What dates work for u?
 
Awa come on sean ben will help with his sister :) besides you got to break em in some time . :winky: would a diffrent date work the date isent set in stone . I dont want to get to close to labor day because I want to make cantina for the con . Scoutaddict what dates work for you ill check with my family see what els works .:gringrin:
 
Any takers ?? I will be heading up the 17 . Knowing the way things go it wi probly be late evening . As of now I think my doughter and I will camp at lake alpine . We will be meeting 3 jeeps and a toyata . My son is suposed to show up with his toyata as his Scout is awating funds to get back on the road .

Unfortunately, it looks like I won't be ready by then. Got side tracked with ronbgone's motor swap this weekend. Along with another project for another good friend yesterday. Basically ran out of time to actually work on my own rig :(
 
Joe my Scout ain't ready I'm fighting some timing issues and have to swap my front axle still but if we have the xj done we May be able to make it
 
Talked to Mike about this last night and I'm planning on heading up Friday after work. Actually, I'll try and make it half a day to get ahead of the weekend traffic.
 
The wife has been wanted to go. Slick rock is perfect for her first run. Where around lake alpine are you guys thinking of camping Friday night?
 
I have to work a full day Friday so I wont get out of the bay till about 5 prime traffic time . Probly wonte get to alpine till some time after 8 pm. Great to here you guys can make it . Craig I realy liked the camp stie we had last time we all were there (in the snow ) . Not sure if I could finde itcould you post a map agin ?my friend gabe his kids & brother should get there ahead of me . They will be in a gray cj 7 and a white yj . If you all could keep a eye out I would appreciat it . Steve & son in a red toyata should be getting there about the same time as me . Thanks

I finally diagnosed the issue with my 4wd from that tirp. Just need to pull an axle. Which means im working on going to slick rock with the Scout but no promises.

Silver creek is the camp site your thinking of Joe. Awesome spot but with all the closures it could get snaged by Friday. You can get there by entering through the lake alpine side and then its a short 10 minutes.
 
Thanks sean .that was aswom camp sit . But actualy the one I am am thinking of is the site we stayed at Saturday night . I think it would be bettar suited for this group . Hopeing to see you there

Does anyone know of any fire restrictions? If fires are ok I'll bring some firewood. I'm also looking for a weber charcoal bbq, a big one. If you have one and can drag it up there, let me know.

Your talking about utica reservoir. The specific site we had has been closed to vehicles. You can still camp there, just walk in with your gear.
