My question is on the shop manuals.I have a 72 sii and a 79 II. How much of a difference is there in the manuals. Can I buy one for a 79 and use it for the 72 or is there a huge difference. I would hate to put out the extra 70-80 dollars if I dint have to.

The main differences between early and late sii's are primarily in the electrical system, ignition components, front axle, carb, emissions control, and vacuum hose routing. For the most part, they're subtle, but just know that there are differences.

Pretty much what trever said. There are subtle differences. If I had to make a choice I would go with the later manual as it will cover a lot of the earlier stuff.

thats why I will buy the 79 thats the same thing I thought. Thanks for the enlightment.
