Service manual question

I am starting a project (1966 1200 pickup) and am thinking about buying the binder books service manual. My skills are limited and wondering if the service manual is going to be very helpful. Thanks to anyone who has an opinion!

The factory service manuals are definitely one of the first things to buy and well worth the cost as they have tons of useful information.

Nothing is better than an IH service manual. The illustrations are extremely useful and clear. The early ones were on thick glossy paper. The parts manuals are extensive and helpful in finding and assembling parts. Chilton and Haynes are more generic, but of the two, the Haynes is superior.
