Seatbelt Upgrade

I’d like to add three-point seatbelts to my 1966 IH 1200A, but I’m not sure the best way to go about it.

I’ve tried googling generally and it’s all these folks with existing third holes, which of course is the only part of the install I’m worried about.

I’m think I’ll need to cut and/or weld to get that third point mounted. Or maybe even fabricate some kind of inside rail that bolts through the floor? Kinda like the scout roll bae maybe?

Have any of you done this before?

I know it's not the same, but I upgraded to 3 point seat belts in my 72 scout II. Utilizing my existing OEM beauty roll bar.

I drilled a hole through the tube and welded in a threaded insert for the bolt holding the upper part of the harness. Then mounted the bottom of hoop, at the base/floor. Has bee working out great so far.

I'm sure there are other options to consider

Thanks, scooter, this is helpful. One of my ideas is to install a bar like that but it seems kinda goofy in a truck with B-pillars.

I wonder if just welding a but onto the B-pillar would do the trick

I figured that there be a big difference between the scout II and your truck.

Makes me wish I had the opportunity spend more time with IH trucks, so I could give a better response. Would have given me a chance to something out for what you seek
