Hi there
just a question about Scout stalling
I have owned my Scout, a 79 345 auto for about 12 years and it will stall if I am driving at idle and hit a bump I have a brand new Holley carby new coil new ignition wiring all the way .
Once the car has stalled select neutral turn the key it will allways start. I have checked everything and have no answer
if anyone can help I would be extremely gratefull
manny thanks tim

Does it stumble a bit before it stalls, or does it just die? If it just dies, I'd suspect a bad connection somewhere in the ignition. Have you inspected your bulkhead connector?

Its done this the entire time, or is this a recent development? If it isn't electrical as chappie said, then it is a problem with your fuel float level...most likely it is too high. The bump sloshes the high fuel level down the carb throat which floods your engine, thus killing it.

Thanks guys
no the engine does not splutter first
my first thought is electrical but the engine has never fired up imedatley after stalling eg. Wire breaking contact then re making also only stalls at low rpm.
Thanks again will check float level and run a new ignition feed
manny thanks
tim
