Scout Light Line Dealer for wiring

I noticed that IH north only is a Scout light line dealer. What is the difference between the SLL version of a "wiring kit" and a kwikwire kit along with the pros and cons of the two?

The SLL version is made to order according to your vin number and takes about 4-8 weeks to get. It will be "plug and play" so to speak but only replaces the four main harness components and average I believe $800 for all four harness'(dash, engine, front, rear).

The kwikwire is a universal wiring harness that is designed to work in most any application. It is less costly at $205 for a 8 circuit kit($239 for 14 circuit and $269 for 22 circuit) and wait time is none as they are normally in stock and ready to ship. These kits will give you more custom options however they do take longer to install.

Thanks for the info. If I got an 8 circuit kit what would have to happen to increase the number of circuits at a later date?

Go with the 14 circuit. I just installed a 22 circuit in my c100 pickup. It wasn't much more than the 14, but I have several wires coiled hanging under the dash I don't need. It would have been easier and cleaner looking to install an expansion fuse block later if I needed it.

If you think you are going to want a few extra circuits at a later date then get the 14 circuit. Not sure what vehicle you are going to rewire but if it's a Scout II I would definitely opt for the 14 circuit.

I did the 14 circuit in my Scout and it was super easy. My technical knowledge for wrenching on vehicles is novice at best which says a lot about the product. The only question I had that was not blatantly spelled out by the instructions was: where do I rub the hot to my electric choke from? But if you dig a little bit in the instructions the info is there.
