After my family and my Scout narrowly survived the Montecito Mudslide... my Scout needs to be smogged after the she got a salvage title. Long story but those are the facts... Does anyone have experience on what I need to do to this old girl to pass the visual inspection? She has a different carb and K&N air filter. I know she needs an original vacuum canister hooked up correctly. Much appreciate the help and guidance.

Hi. I know you have a similar thread going on another forum to which you've received quite a bit of good advice from folks who've been there done that. Have you read through those posts?

i know this is close to a month old. is the k&n in the oem filter housing with the chimney? does the carb have an eo number? i think it is really gonna depend on the shop and tech, some by the book, no exceptions, others seem to applaud a good faith effort.

for instance, i have an edelbrock 1400, it has an eo number, but for a gm motor. i gave the shop a copy of the eo and didn't say anything else. i also have a magna flo aftermarket cat. it is specific to the vehicle but the eo number is stamped on the top side, so it is a pita to see it. make it as easy as possible on the tech. i put copies of the eos in the glove box and put labels with the eos for the carb and cat under the hood with the other emissions info.
