Scout II battery wiring

Redoing a mess on a '74 scout II with a 345. What is the stock/typical course of + and - battery cables to starter and ground? My + is just laying across the top of the engine.
 
The factory routing of POS is rearward along the driver side inner fender, then behind the cylinder heads across the bell housing and down to the solenoid. NEG is to an accessible bolt on the power steering bracket or similar engine block attachment point in that general area.
