Scout haulin' California road trip. Oct 24-26.

and I gotta pair of sii axles (disc front) in the shop that need to go away (came inna swap from monte originally). The locko hubs are gone but everything else is there. The brake system on the rear axle is new and fresh, doesn't appear to have actually been used. They are geared 3.07 so they would be cruiser gears for sure. Vintage post-'77 we think as the bom numbers are not in the database.

I'd have to surmise that is a "early" sii, maybe a transition version from the 810 based on the mounting of the data plate. So ya May find "features" of both versions as ya work through it.

Axles:sold!!

I'll take them.

3.07 might actually be just what he needs for really driving around at freeway speeds in cali. - it would put him at about 2450 rpm's at 75 mph. Just about perfect for cruising with a 345.

it is not an 810 -- I checked the glove box and it is a Scout II -- my '72 has all the same quirks that this 1971 has, vin tag and line setting ticket on the cowl.

From what little I know, I believe all 71 and 72 scouts had the vin plate on the cowl. I just recently helped a friend scrap out a 72 (I took all the good parts that were left) and it also had the vin on the cowl.

I should compare the vin numbers between my Scout and his Scout and see how far apart they actually are -- mine has a production date in 1971.... They might be closer brothers than I think!

I am curious myself. I have a 1971 that is an 810. I wonder what the production dates are between the two.

They are yores!

I'll deliver to ya...just tell me when. I need to pick up two sets of hub retainer nuts and locks today/tomorrow when I go to town, since the locko parts went with the hubs to Todd.

And I'll help ya re-seal that tranny package monte's talkin' while it's on the ground. No sense in not handlin' that now (not really now, but when the time comes!). We can do that at yore digs (or monte's) no need for it to come here!
