Well I have a bit of a problem, my fan blade and radiator got in a fight and now there both trashed. I took my radiator to a shop and they wanted $480 for a new core:out:. I have been looking online and cant seem to find anything. Does anyone know were I can get a core for cheaper? Or does anyone know of someone who might have a used radiator? And maybe some other options, if I cant find one.

Information about my Scout

engine- 304

year-1969

model-800a

thanks for the help in advance

Many older vehicles no longer have aftermarket replacement radiators available at a reasonable selling price.

First off, I'd call the shop and ask about a replacement or what Jeff could come up with.

He May suggest you contact his brother down at IH only in Lancaster, CA or his other brother Isa at Isa's IH not far from Lancaster in acton, CA.

I am in the same boat. I've had a small leak that has gotten bigger. I pulled my radiator to take it to the shop, and they gave me the same bad news. So what did the Ismail brothers have to say? I'm going to have to put the call out to the gang tomorrow and hope there's some solutions.

Thanks michael for the cooling system rehab you walked me through earlier...it finally gave up. I just didn't want to put in leak stop more than twice for fear it would start to wreak havoc with the motor.

Radiator stuff has gotten super spendy as metal prices continue to rise. A simple repair shouldn't be that bad, but I'm not sure there is any cheap way around a core except maybe a good cheap used radiator. I'm trying that method with my 74, except I had the radiator, so I didn't have much to loose.
