Hi everyone,

rather new, and not sure if this question is a proverbial no-no on the forums. I recently bought a 1968? Scout 2, with the 345ci engine. It needed a ton of work, and after having it I've managed to keep it all original, and got it running and driving (albeit not great). Unfortunately, life has taken over at this point, and I have debated selling it. Although, with it's present condition, I have no idea where to start on what it's worth. Here's a brief description :

the body has dings, and rear passenger side quater panel needs some bondo attention.

It does have rusted through floor panels, and will need sheet metal.

The dust guard cover, and flywheel cover are missing on it.

I've shaved the top (unrepairable)

the front shocks I removed while installed and tweaking the suspension, they were very inadequate.

The body does have rusted through spots, mainly only the windshield bracket in spots, and floorpans.

Here's what I've done to it after getting it back home.

Adjust the timing and distributor
replaced all fluids and filters
replaced spark plugs
rubberized the underbody to prevent rust
replaced the solenoid, and battery
cleaned and replaced the fuel tank and lines
replaced spark plugs
adjusted the Holley gold box carb
sanded and painted the outside body, and interior 80% thus far to prevent rusting.
Ran new brake lines to the front.
Installed a new power steering pump
raised the shackle lift another 2 inches
installed 35inch buckshot mudders
and quite a few other nick-nacks

unfortunately, I havent been able to upload and photo's online yet. If someone fairly versed in pricing on these was interested though, I'll list my phone number here at the bottom and can send pictures via message. Hate to see her go, but unfortunately no time to continue this summer, and I'd like to see it go to a good home.

This post is probably going to draw the ire of the site moderators. There is a classified section on this forum available for just this purpose.

With all do respect, the first thing you need to do is shit or get off the pot. Is the rig for sale or isn't it? If it is for sale, then by all means feel free to post an ad in the classified section with vehicle location and asking price included. Exploratory marketing is frowned upon.

Secondly, you don't know for sure what you've got. If you don't even know the year of the vehicle, does that mean it doesn't have a clean title? How about the vin tag? If you're going to have any success in getting something sold, you need to know exactly what it is you're trying to sell, right?

As trever has stated, this vehicle either needs to be listed in the appropriate classified as "for sale" complete with location and an asking price, or this thread will be deleted.

Hey scoutboy,

your correct, if there is a listing area for classifieds, I'd need to post there. I am unaware of where it is, and I am sure it's probably blatently plastered in bold somewhere I scrolled through unmeaningfully. This one is for sale, correct. It is one of 3 I purchased a week or so back, one of which you've help me learn how to reset the distributor on. Unfortunately, I don't have time to undertake more than 1 at the moment, and decided to let the latter go.

The vin, albeit the normal one plastered on the door frame, was half gone at the time of purchase. From account of the person I bought the lot of 3 of them from, they have never been titled with the exception of the 77 traveler, which he did sign over the title for. With the bill of sale, there was no working vin we could gather on it, and currently I am still looking for one on it. It has tell-tale sign's of random years plastered all over it that don't jive together, one such being the rear tail lights are for a 68, however the front grill doesnt have the same design as a 68 from what I have read.

At first assumption, after looking back on this it would appear I am selling the truck you and mer, so graciously helped me with. However this isn't the case, I do have that one and it's still very much a work in progress. I assume you were referring to this in your "shit, or get off the pot" statement. It's still getting tinkered with, and not for sale. I just lack the time at this point, for the other two in my posession.

Apologies for not being in the right area, im rather new, but I'll get it down. You can close the thread, I believe it's finished.
