Saftey Modifcations - New seat belts and seat tied to roll cage.

So after promising amber 5 years ago that I would add over the shoulder style seat belts to replace the factory lap belts - I finally got around to doing the upgrade. At the same time I tied the seats to the roll cage - they had been only bolted to the floor up to this point.

All tube added was 1.5" x .120 hrew - all tabs are 2"x3/16". Grade 8 - 3/8" hardware with either locknuts or double nuts on all attachments.

Added a full cross bar for the rear of the seats - added a square base welded to the cage and the body under the seats.

The seat belts are something I found at the junk yard. It took some measuring and fitting to get the upper mount point right on the seat belts. I ended up at 26" off the seat.

I know, I know -- needs more triangulation and the mount points should be in double shear --- :dita:

dont worry chris, look at my rig anytime and you'll see some pretty crappy welds. In the days before tractractor:icon_neutral:

They look like piles of bird poop - I used a technique called 'long arcing' which if I recall I learned from you!!! :dita:
