RS rear shackle hole location.

So gents. I've got this set up front fangs are welded in solid.

Leaf springs are in with a rear axle under the perches just for mock up as I have not got the pass side perch cut to 3" yet.

My big question is can I just wrap a couple 10k lb straps around this and crank the leaf springs up by 2" or so to mimmick the weight of the front of the scout II on it?

My engine/ trans are sitting on separate stands. Xfer case is in my basement and I really want to have the frame all prepped and ready to go before I wire wheel it all down and paint it up.

So I know in the instructions it states to load and jounce the suspension but unless I can use straps to do that I can't really do that.

This is with no weight on it other than a bare frame.

So is there a general hole location for the rear shackle that you would normally drill with stock leaf springs?

You can use straps to compress it as they would be better than nothing. Obviously you can't gurantee that the shackle angle will be perfect, but it should be pretty close. That picture of the shackle sleeve hole is correct on the location. It varies a bit depending upon how stiff the springs are. Thanks.
 
The angle normally changes about 5* once you go from the wooden block to actually bolting the shackles on, so 10* is about the final angle. If you are light on the weight, then I would go for 3-4* as you are correct in that it will grow once the Scout is fully assembled. Thanks.
 
Mine ended up being further back on old stock springs.

Hope it doesn't screw me if I upgrade to lift springs in the future.
