Need help! I rebuilt my Scout II Dana 44 and I'm putting it back together but found my front right rotor is rubbing on the bottom part of the caliper bracket when spinning the hub. I still don't have the caliper or pads on.
We really need more info! Is it all stock Scout disc brakes? Are they new rotors? Did the old ones fit correctly? If you are using Chevy calipers and brackets, you will have to do some minor grinding to get enough clearance. That is between the knuckle and the bracket though, not bracket to rotor.
Is the rotor fully seated on the spindle? If you have new seals, they are sometimes tough to force over that last step on the spindle shaft. That would cause the outside of the rotor to contact the inside pf the caliper bracket.
