Replacement Universal Holley 1904 Carburetor choke cable routing?

I just purchased the new replacement 1904 carb from IHPA and noticed that the manual choke pull is 180 degrees from the original Holley. My cable is not long enough to reach the new mount. What are the recommendations for hooking up? I know I can purchase an aftermarket choke cable, but I am running the original knobs on my restored scout. Do I try to remove the original knob and fab it up to work with the new cable? Looking for suggestions.

It's universal application carburetor, which allows the choke linkage to be mounted from the front or rear face. A couple screws and you can flip the linkage around to work on a Scout 80/800 with factory cable.
