Rebuilt clutch

I'm dragging this question over from the bp board. I bought a rebuilt clutch from ihon last week and it was identical to the core I dropped off, so that's not a problem. All other clutches I've used have what is called a "marcel" spring in the disc. The clutch I had in my '75 Scout was this way. That's that wave-washer like thing between the linings. Compresses when the clutch is engaged. The disc I got is riveted solid and doesn't appear to have the marcel. (the core was riveted solid too, and that clutch was installed back in '99). Have the rebuilders gone away from this design?

Sorry Mark but I don't have an answer for this. Next time my sales rep stops by I'll ask him about this.

Thanks.
It would be good to know his take on this. I looked at the disc again, and the center metal disc is segmented like a marcel should be. I'm wondering if in fact it is there, the "spring" having gone out of these old discs from years of use and heat, and that they essentially flatten out. They're all they have to rebuild these days.
