Like to say thanks to IH north for all the help lately with parts.
Tonight was rear brakes. Started about 5 after work and finished up about 8.
The fella that invented drum brakes sure is a fan of springs and pivot parts.
I did new bake shoes, drums and hardware kit.
I put it back together exactly how it came apart, question is, to me it seems the red return spring which is thicker and stiffer would go on the main brake shoe not the secondary?
Also how tight do you guys set your brakes? I did mine to where there was very little resistance, then rolled backwards a number of times down a hill till I heard the self adjuster stop clicking, seems to stop well and nice feel on the pedal.
Any one ever put a thermal temp gun on a drum brake and get a operating temp that is an avg for city driving?
