New bumper mocked in place .its made from 3x6x3/16 wall tubing , I also welded up the mounting brakets today but ran outta time and didnt get to mount everything up

Very nice! Now perhaps a nice light piece of diamond plate, with a 90 deg bend, to cover the top and a bit of the area below the tail gate will give it a nice finish look.

What do you plan to do with the dorky tail lights? Some nice led units built into the bumper would be cool! Like this:

No diamond plate, I think it looks good without. I kinda like the dorky tail lights, but they're so faded and crumbling I might fab up some brackets to hold some led tails in the factory spot.heres a pic of the bumper bolted up

Lol - those dorky looken tail lights look like they came off a Scout II

bumper looks cool. It's something similar to what I'm considering on doing for my own 73 beast. I'm not too fond of the diamond plate either.
