Rear brake drum

Does anyone know if a rear brake drum off a Ford Bronco will fit onto a Scout 2 Dana 44 rear? The reason I am asking because at the local parts store the Ford drum is in stock and a bit cheaper than a scouts drum.

I believe they are separate part numbers. I would want to compare measurements between both parts before just slapping the Ford unit on. Brakes aren't a place to experiment.

The center pilot hole on a Ford drum is smaller than the Scout. Also the brake back spacing on a Ford drum is 2.5" versus the scouts 2 1/4"(and sometimes 2 1/8"). I have used the Ford drums before but the pilot hole needs to be machined larger. With the cost of the drum itself and then machining time it ends up costing about the same so you might as well just buy the correct part to begin with is my recommendation.

I recently ran into this problem as a brake job first timer and compared both parts together. They are not the same. Are you looking at Bronco graveyard's or rock auto's $40.00 drums? Price and image can be tempting, however... What Jeff said.
