Re: Skyjacker Softride Suspensions

Jeff you got these for an 800?
I am going to do a Scout II axle swap out into my 800 in the fall and need to replace the springs I am looking for 2-4 inches of lift and I am going to keep it SUA.
What would it cost for everything needed to attach the axles to the Scout (ubolts, perches, ect to do that swap out?)
is that to broad of a question?
This way I can start amassing the funds!

This is somewhat of a broad question. Are you sticking with the 800 springs or do you want to convert to Scout II springs?

Re: Skyjacker Softride Suspensions

Hey Jeff,
sorry for the super broad questions I was worried it was going to come out that way- let me tell you my goal first-
swap out Scout II axles from a 73 into my 68 800.
I am going to replace the springs and am shooting for about 2-4 inches of lift (the axles did not come with any springs). So I am guessing that I will switch into the Scout II springs? Or would it be better to keep the Scout 800 width of springs. Isnt the only real difference is that one is 2 inches one is 1 3/4 inches?

So what I would like to do is buy from you in one shot pretty much everything I need to connect the axles to my frame.
Meaning (and please add to this list if needed)

I need...
Springs
ubolts
perches
shackles
bushings
hangars
and ??????
I am going to do the conversion in the fall-

Re: Skyjacker Softride Suspensions

The difference in the springs besides width is the length. Both the front and rear Scout II springs are much longer than the 800 springs. The fronts make for an easy swap but the length of the rear sii springs puts the shackle at just past the back of the frame. So basically you need to decide what spring you want to use for the rear. At this time I have no lift springs for the 800's so an add-a-leaf and shackle lift are all I can offer unless I have a custom set made. Let me know exactly what direction you would like to go with and I will price it out accordingly. I am currently preparing and getting ready to leave for a week to attend the Binder Bee so I won't be able to get you a quote for at least a couple of weeks.
