Re: 63' Scout 80

we rebuilt a Scout II Dana 44 front axle, equipped it with 4.27 gears and new brakes, modified it for use in a Scout 80/800, and then installed it. We also dropped in the engine (after checking it over since we didn't build it).

I know this thread is like 2 years old, so sorry to post but I couldn't find this anywhere else.

When you say you 'modified it for use in Scout 80 / 800' what exactly do you mean? Like trimming the width? If thats the case, how much do you have to trim them?

I have a 69' Scout 800 and wanting to upgrade the axles on them.

Thanks

Re: 63' Scout 80

We left the Scout II housing width the same. We modified the spring perchs and fabricated custom Ubolt plates. Keep in mind on this project we also used Scout II leafsprings so things are slightly different as opposed to one with stock Scout 80/800 leafsprings.
