Quiet the inside of a Scout II

Hey guys, just bought my first Scout. Been a parts guy for International for 10 years now so figured it was time to man up and buy one. Now is where the fun and questions begin. It's a 76 with a 345 and tf tranny. Drove it around for a bit and the inside sounds like I am the ball inside a can of paint. I am looking for ways to quiet it down without putting mats or carpet in. Living here in Colorado I plan on driving with the top off most of the time but a freak rain storm would soak any interior I put in. I think something like a line-x or do it yourself spray/roll bedliner both inside and out would help, but I am not sure how much. Does anyone have any suggestions for a best brand of do it yourself bedliner, or any other solutions. I think I might also need to check cab bushing because every little bump makes the back of the cabin squeek.
Thanks for the help

"dynamat" is a name I hear a lot about. It seems like these vehicles offer quite a challenge in the noise control field, so good luck figuring out how to obtain a dull roar you can live with :d

Original body bushings are typically shot on a vehicles of this vintage, but I would also suspect the hinges on the rear lift glass assembly. I have a bad one on my travel top and it squeaks like a mouse on cocaine.
