questions regarding carb 0-7448

Started installing my new carb from ihon (thanks again Jeff), it came with a smaller red spring in the bag that also had the wire for the positive on the electric choke. I'm not quite sure where this spring attaches to. I have also read in a lot of the posts to use a b+ source for the choke and to not use the the positive post of the coil. I currently don't have a dvom to check for power on wires. What would be some good places to wire it into?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Discard the extra small spring. The new carb itself will come with extra small misc parts for various installations that you will not need for the install onto a IH engine.

As for the b+ lead purchase yourself a test light or a dvom. Both are very inexpensive to buy will help you in the future fix other problems. If the wiring harness does not already have a extra b+ lead near where the wires come out for the coil then you will need to run a new one. Although a pain to install the best location to run the wire from is the ignition switch.

Any battery positive source controlled by the key switch will work. The current to the choke positive terminal must be hot whenever the engine is running, and dead when the key switch is turned off.
