Power steering pump questions

Does any one know the power steering pump pressures for a scout II and a D series pickup. My two pickups don’t have very good power steering, won’t hardly turn if the truck isn’t moving but my scout steers great. No problems turning lock to lock while sitting still. Wondering if it would help swapping the trucks to the newer model pump that the scout has.

The Scout II utilizes a Saginaw/GM pump.

The "D" Series utilizes a TRW pump.

The TRW pump puts out approximately 75 psi more than the Saginaw pump.

The power steering on my truck works great.

I have a different power steering pump and it is squealing above 1200 rpm. I am assuming it is the bearing but cannot find any info on it. In my research I see my belt is not where it is suppose to be but will not line up.

It is currently working with the ps belt on the crank. can this type of pump be rebuilt with a new bearing?

The squealing is probably the misaligned belt. You need the 3rd pulley for the crank and it will be in alignment. If it still squeals after that, rebuilt pumps are easy to find.
