Possible Drivetrain Sawp?

I have a '78 Scout II with the original engine in it. It runs fine but could be freshened up. My question has to do with the fact that a buddy of mine has a recently wrecked 05 Chevy z71. It has the 5.7l v8 engine, 4l60-e trans, and I am not sure which transfer case. Has anyone had any experience trying a complete swap. I have been researching info and have found a lot of promising information about doing the swap into a Jeep but have not run across anyone doing it in a IH. Any thoughts or ideas are welcome and appreciated.
