Please help vin question

I bought a 61 Scout 3 years ago and just plain forgot to get the title in my name. I'm trying to sell it now and have to get a vin inspection done, but now I'm thinking the title is fishy.
The number on the firewall plate is fc55-1 but the title has an 11 digit number preceded by an a. Where is this vin number coming from?
Ps in the title vin the sn from the firewall plate is not even part of it.

The front drivers side frame rail, outer side, behind the bumper has the vin stamped into it. It can be hard to see so I recommend scraping it down and using a block and sand paper to smooth the surface. You will see it. Probably won't have the a but it must match the title other wise. Can you post a photo of your id plate? It would be interesting if it looks like a factory stamping or not.
