I'm not able to reference my sii manual at present, and don't know when next I'll be able to, but I will try to describe the layout as best as I can from memory, which May wind up leaving you more confused than you are now, but hopefully not.
Okay, starting at the rear wheels, you have a cable going to each side. Each cable end has a spring-loaded fitting cap on it that is inserted into a slot on the apply bar inside the brake drum. Each side of the cable then goes up to a u-bracket that has a hole drilled through it for a threaded adjustment rod that is also spring loaded. This rod as it the end of the portion that goes up to the brake pedal. The rod must also penetrate holes cut into the transmission crossmember before the long spring is inserted and the rod passes through the u-bracket. There are two components for setting the tension. One is a rod with a hook on one end and a curly-q bend on the other. The cable is passed into the curly-q end of the rod and the hook end gets fitted into a hole on a special bracket that is welded to the frame on the passenger side. This takes up some of the cable slack on the passenger side. Next, two nuts, one to adjust the tension against the big spring and one to lock the first nut are threaded onto the the threaded rod after it has passed through the u-bracket. Sorry, that's the best I can do for you. Hope it helps. Maybe someone else will be kind enough to crawl under there's and snap some pics for you. I can't do it now and don't know when I'll be able to. I'm many miles away from home right now.
